A Little About Us

Jim Boyd and Patrick Findley have a combined Volkswagen experience of 38 years. Between the two they owned 54 Volkswagens, but also Audi, Porsche and BMWs. They opened Wolfsburg Automotive in 2008 because they felt was strong need for a Independent German car repair shop in Memphis. A shop that provides quality service but could also help ease the blow to the pocket book when trying to maintain a German car. When they saw the old Metric Motor Clinic building was available they figured there wasn’t any better place for a VW/ Audi shop than a shop that was already a VW repair shop for 30 years.

Patrick started working on VWs in 1992. He started with the air cooled cars working at Moon Bugs on Summer Rd., and eventually switched to water cooled working for the local dealership. Patrick is an expert level VW technician, with factory training, certified up through 2009. He started at the dealer the Mk3s were still under warranty. Patrick was also a Certified Porsche technician and Certified Audi technician previously. He has also worked on BMW and Mercedes at a local independent in Cordova. Patrick has a 87 Mk2 GTI that he road races in SCCA’s H production category. When he ran the car in ITB , he finished 4th place at the regional championship in 2004, 7th in 2005, 11th in 03, all at Road Atlanta.

Jim has been driving and working on Volkswagens since his first car a 1980 Scirocco S in 1984. He moved to Memphis in 2005 from his hometown of Sacramento California because of his great appreciation for Memphis. He worked at the local VW dealership in Germantown from 2005 until 2008. In California Jim ran the largest Independent BMW and Porsche shop in Sacramento for 8 years. In that 8 years he a got a lot of hands on experience with BMW and Porsche. Jim is also certified up through 2009.
